The Center for Social Gerontology, Inc. (TCSG), is a national non-profit advocacy, research, and training organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the individual rights, autonomy and dignity of older persons, and combatting ageist attitudes and policies that work against their dignity, autonomy and rights. Since our inception in 1972, TCSG has pursued this goal through a wide variety of projects. Specific objectives and activities have evolved in response to emerging issues and as the needs of older persons and of aging society have evolved. Throughout this entire time, however, our focus has been on particularly needy, vulnerable older persons who often are limited in their capacity to advocate on their own behalf.
